InVerse Function

The Auditorium at UHeights
5031 University Way NE, Seattle WA 98105
Directed by Zandi Carlson

Celebrate Poetry Month - and Science - by joining us for the 4th InVerse Functions, an evening of science poems read by actors in a theatrical setting.

Poems about, or inspired by, science and scientific ideas provide a deeply human perspective on what science is and how it has come to pervade human experience.

Curator Priscilla Long has once again gathered science poems by (mostly) contemporary poets –many of them local – to constitute our “script”. Zandi Carlson directs an ensemble of actors, including Bob Williams, Chloe Payne, Kataka Mackenzie, and Kenna M. Kettrick.

Think of it as a poetry journal in theater form. You will also be able to meet several of the poets and buy their books.

Let’s Be Silver

Book by Jasmine Joshua, Music and Lyrics by Heather Ragusa, Additional Songs and Lyrics by Jasmine Joshua.
Directed by Zandi Carlson

If the Gilmore Girls weren’t from old money and worked at a crappy musician dive bar, you’d have best friends Wendy and Mae. LET’S BE SILVER explores the world of the post-2008 millennial artist. When do you just quit and become a grown-up? Or do you just reinvent what adulthood means?

In development with a planned staged reading for June 2025. More information to come!
