Aspire Repertory Theatre

Shakespeare’s language can feel overwhelming when you don’t have to tools to decode and understand what it means. In this workshop, we’ll cover basic scansion (poetic rhythm), punctuation, and rhetorical devises to give you the tools to explore Shakespearean text. Through marching out the rhythms and using the “Map of Language” you’ll use your body to explore the text, and connect with it viscerally and intellectually.

This workshop is great for actors interested in deepening their understanding of Shakespeare’s text, as well as for contemporary and musical theatre performers who can benefit from the techniques we’ll explore.
